Sarah started Yellow Brick Road Counseling, LLC in 2018 with the goal of providing a safe, comfortable place for families to receive holistic mental health counseling services. Sarah received her Ed.S. from the University of Mississippi, her Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is certified in trauma therapy and integrative medicine for mental health therapists. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor, a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor™️ , and a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor. She has experience in addiction counseling, childhood trauma, ADHD, Autism, and parenting. Additionally, she provides animal-assisted psychotherapy and is currently working on her certification. Charlie (pictured here) is an AKC Certified Good Citizen, a service dog, and a psychotherapy assistant. Sarah also provides EMDR therapy. Sarah is married to a retired teacher, and enjoys spending time with their two sons, two granddaughters and grandson.

Sara joined Yellow Brick Road Counseling, LLC in 2018. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S). She obtained her Master's degree in Professional Counseling in 2017 through Grand Canyon University and her Bachelor's in Behavioral Science in 2009 from Athens State University. Sara is certified in AutPlay Therapy, which helps clients who have learning disabilities and other diagnoses, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. She is also certified in Parent-Child Interactive Therapy, Integrated Behavioral Medicine, and has a great deal of training in play therapy. Sara utilizes a variety of therapeutic interventions, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, EMDR, and Family Therapy. She is married and enjoys spending time outdoors and loving their three dogs.

She has 19 years of experience, with 10 years specifically in psychiatric mental healthcare! Mandy is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Her collaborating psychiatrist is Dr. Leesha Ellis-Cox. She is passionate about providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health services to adolescents and adults. Mandy possesses strong clinical skills enhanced by natural ability to build rapport with patients and families. She follows evidence-based guidelines blended with clinical experience, personal observation, and intuition. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, her role is multifaceted, including educator and mental health advocate.
She values interdisciplinary education and inter-professional collaboration for the whole person, with a patient-centered approach to health and healthcare.
She is excited to be able to provide opportunities to bridge the gap in disparities that exists in mental health services offered in rural communities. Mandy is always advocating for innovations in healthcare, and has special interests in the integration of behavioral medicine from a holistic approach, trauma-informed care, and suicide prevention.

Prior to joining Yellow Brick Road Counseling, LLC in 2019, Narda worked for a private hospital in the Birmingham area; where she assisted adults, teens, and adolescents with severe mental illnesses by providing individual and family sessions. Narda has experience with facilitating processes, mental health, and recreational groups for adults, teens, and adolescents. When not seeing clients, Narda volunteers with several civic organizations. Narda is an avid runner and enjoys spending time with her husband and child.

She received her Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education in 1989 from Athens State University. She taught kindergarten for 15 years in Huntsville City Schools. She received her Master's in School Counseling from Alabama A & M. She is retired from the Madison City Schools after 17 years of service. Cindy is married and raised two children and has a grandchild on the way! In her spare time, she loves to play tennis.

Laine earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Alabama in 2024. She is a Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society member. Laine earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Athens State University in 2018, where she graduated magna cum laude. From 2017 - 2020, Laine served as a research assistant under Athens State’s Department of Behavioral Sciences on two suicide awareness, prevention, intervention, and outreach grants funded by The Alabama Department of Public Health, Alabama Higher Education Suicide Prevention Program grant.

She received bachelor's degrees in Biblical Studies and Elementary Education in 2012 and continued to work as a teacher and in school administration for 13 years. Ashley has dedicated time to college and children's ministry work as well as work overseas in Uganda building community resources, teaching, and caring for orphans. Additionally, she worked alongside DHR to support families in their journey toward reunification for 3 years and has experience medically caring for elderly patients. Her experiences have shaped the passion she has for counseling and has promoted a desire to work with children, adolescents, women, families, and couples. She uses an integrative therapeutic approach grounded in person-centered mindfulness, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is proven to foster growth and resilience in clients.When Ashley is not working with clients, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 12 years and their three children. She focuses on hobbies that promote connectedness to nature and family such as hiking, kayaking, traveling, and trying new things.
